Gold Backed Coins are tradable online within the Ripple network. Existing since 2011, this is an advanced system for trading currencies safely and quickly against each other worldwide. The prime place for trading GBC is the GBC/BTC market integrated in the Ripple network – but users can easily create new markets in which to buy or sell GBC against other currencies.

MINIMUM PRICE GUARANTEE

Interventions on the GBC/BTC market will happen, should the market price drop below the backed value of the coin. The physical gold reserves will be used to guarantee investors this important advantage.

AMOUNT OF COINS

A maximum amount of 13 Million GBC is expected to be issued during several book buildings. The exact amount of GBC in circulation will depend on the specific demand during the book building processes. In any case, all GBC will be backed by one tenth of an ounce of gold per coin.
